
Director Rae Jackson, Coach
Coach Rae is the Founder and Director of Bay Area Magic. He has been coaching youth sports for over a decade. He began coaching in the East Oakland Community where he was instrumental in bringing youths to the understanding that athletics and academics went hand and hand. He was hired in 2000 as an Assistant Woman’s Coach Basketball at Contra Costa College. Coach Rae was instrumental in leading Contra Costa College to two State Final appearances and (4) Final Four appearances in the past (5) years. He was also responsible for all recruitment of student athletes for the college. He then Coach Fremont High where, in his first season leaded the Lady Tigers back to OAL league Playoffs. Coach Rae is nationally known for being one of the top Amateur Athletic Union Coaches in California. Coach Rae has put together a comprehensive program. He instructs players on the fundamentals of basketball by preparing them for the next level. The style of teaching corresponds to that which is expected at the college level, therefore preparing the athletes for the transition from high school basketball to college level basketball. Coach Rae's Philosophy is simple; instill principles of discipline, dedication, loyalty, and hard work. Coach Rae feels that through discipline and hard work anything is obtainable. This ideology is applied in education as well as athletics. The only way to be productive in society is through education. Basketball is nothing more than a discipline to prepare you for life.
